We have been so busy these past couple of weeks I decided to order us a pre-made dinner so it would be ready when we got home. I heard about Luke’s Local at the SF Beer Fest at Fort Mason. They were handing out tastey snacks (genius idea with how much beer everyone was consuming) and if you signed up you got a discount off your first order. So naturally, in my beer goggled state and after tasting the little appetizer I put my name and email down.
The one drawback about this company is that I literally wanted to get one of each meal. Everything so sounds delicious and the menu changes every week. They have great veggie only options, gluten free options and of course meat lovers options too (they know what I like).
I ordered the Chef’s Meal of the Week – Braised Porchetta. Which sounded too good to pass up. I have never attempted porchetta at home and I don’t think I have the equipment to do so. It seemed like a perfect Tuesday night dinner.
They give you delivery times and they are very prompt! I got home and a couple of minutes later my dinner arrived. You throw it in the oven and out pops an entirely prepared meal that took you no time and no dishes to prepare!
The pork was delicious and its flavors were highlighted by the fresh, garlicky chimichurri sauce. Green rapini was crunchy and the horseradish mash potatoes added a kick and creamy aspect to every bite. I will be ordering again, it was too easy and delicious not to.
