The Weekender

LA is such a fun place, I can only imagine what my life would be like if I lived there. Do you ever think about that, what if you lived in a completely different city, or country even – what would it be like? Well I got a taste of LA this weekend, and don’t tell my girl SF, but it was nice.

The warm weather played a huge part. Seeing the sun for the WHOLE day, with no trace of fog or clouds – is that what it’s like all the time?

We woke up on Saturday at my friends house where her mom made us an amazing breakfast of waffles, eggs and bacon – moms are the best. Feeling charged for the day and ready to be out in the sun we hopped in the car and made our way to Santa Monica – all the while singing the Sheryl Crow song.

{‘san-ta mon-i-ca bou-le-vard…’}

We stopped for lunch at Father’s Office, a bar that boasts beyond amazing bar food – and they didn’t disappoint. They are known for their delicious beers…

We got two brews that (we were told) compliment the flavor of the burger nicely.

And of course we got the burger, with a side of sweet potato fries.

Oh man, look at that beauty. It tastes even better than it looks, if you can believe that. They say their burger doesn’t need ketchup and while at first we were skeptical, after tasting it we agreed. With its caramelized onions, two types of cheese and arugula there is no room for ketchup.

After filling up we strolled in the shops and walked down to the pier. And waited in line like giddy little kids for the Ferris Wheel.

My friend’s engagement that night was a blast, it was very swanky and my neon number worked out great! Hey LA – I’ll be back!
